Kate
Kate’s love for movement began at a young age 12, coaching gymnastics (WAG) while training competitively herself. At 15 she started teaching local dancers with another coach, who had noticed the lack of technique and safe practices in their acro routines. It was here she began to dance, taking exams and performing in eisteddfods. After completing her Bachelors Degree at The University of Queensland, Kate went on to do train a year pre-professional in dance and performing commercially— all while continuing to teach both dance and acro. Her understanding of movement deepened as she discovered the power of Pilates for performance enhancement, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Today, Kate is a fully qualified Mat, Barre, Reformer Pilates, and Yoga teacher, bringing this knowledge into her work to support students in developing strength, mobility, and body awareness. She continues to develop and expand her knowledge and skills. Kate’s coaching philosophy is built on strong foundations and safe progressions. She strives to create a supportive, encouraging space where students feel confident trying new skills, challenging themselves and celebrating their own progress.Kate’s goal is to help every student build confidence, learn new skills and develop a lifelong love of movement — both in and out of the studio.
anouk
Anouk is on of our amazing coaches and completed our first Absolute Aerials Teacher training Course in 2019!Anouk started gymnastics when she was 8 years old and trained until she developed a shoulder injury. Upon recovery she returned to gymnastics, however she never trained it consistently as the environment wasn't right for her. Anouk moved on to train calesthenics dance before finding aerials! Anouk says, "Aerials for me is the perfect balance between gymnastics and dance with sprinkles of circus!" Anouk started at Absolute Aerials in 2017 and fell in love after her first lesson. She has won 1st Place in the 2022 La Folie competition in the elite silk solo division! "Learning to fly is everyone's dream and I am luck enough i can make it come true with my training. I love seeing my students faces light up as they get a new trick, their smile makes my day!"
